Here's a picture of all the kids who were at the scrapping party, some sleeping (including Dan in the blue sleeping bag), and some watching a movie:
This is what happens to an egg when you leave it soaking in vinegar for a couple of days. It actually bounces:
Kaylynn was upset about something, and this is how compassionate we all are--everyone comes and mimics her, starting with Dan. I'm sure someday she'll talk about this with her therapist:
Someone was asking what the Great Taste was like, and this is a picture of one of the booths that were set up side by side in a couple of rows. Look at me--you would think I would have a happier look on my face being surrounded by so much food:
Here are some rolls that Anna made from a cookbook she bought at the book fair. They were actually supposed to be pretzels but she decided she didn't want to do all that work. They're the frozen rolls, decorated with food coloring:
The next couple of pictures are of Anna after her class production of Twelfth Night. She played Mariah. These are her friends Annabelle and Eliza:

And this is Jeremy wielding a sword in his class performance of Hamlet. He was one of the guards:
This is the state of our living room right now. We were going to paint last weekend, but after my sleepless night and Dan having to work very late Friday night, we didn't get as far as we liked. Between Dan having to work a bit at home, me getting ready for camp, three "graduations", various end-of-school parties, and my attempt to finish the book for the book club I'm hosting, our painting prep is going pretty slow. But the kids love the new couch arrangement. They have been taking turns sleeping on it:
And that's all for now, but stay tuned for promotion and party pictures!
I'm so proud of myself that I remembered on my own to do this! I got about 1 hour of sleep last night, so maybe that's the secret. We'll see how weird my answers might be:
1. A smile is best if it's not perfect.
2. Taboo is my favorite board or card game.
3. I would love to have more of the outdoors in my life and less worrying.
4. When I think of the Summer Solstice, I think of Stonehenge.
5. I just remembered I need to go to the library to return some things.
6. One of my favorite song lyrics goes like this: "There's a little bit of something me in everything in you." (Matchbox Twenty)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to paint prep for living room, tomorrow my plans include chauffering to Saturday school, dance festival costume fitting and Shakespeare party and being Dan's lovely paint assistant and Sunday, I want to rest???
Wow, I did that pretty fast for me. The only one that took me a while was the favorite board game. There are a lot of good ones like Trivial Pursuit, Tribond, Apples to Apples, etc. I only hate Monopoly.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Perhaps you have been blinded my my new background color. I have a million and one things to do, so of course I sat down and started messing with my blog. I know it is not as beautiful as everyone else's blog, but I don't have the technical skills for anything fancy, and I'm usually pretty happy with simplicity. (Plus this only took me about three minutes.) I'm just not sure about yellow yet. Maybe I need to add Coldplay's song "Yellow" to make it complete. I guess I had better get back to work, or at least take a nap so the machine that is "I" can run more efficiently. I just needed a little bit of dead brain time (or brain dead time?).

1. Becoming a grandmother is high up on my bucket list. (But not in the next 10 years)
2. My favorite quote is "Fake it 'til you make it"; it's from ?. I have to tell myself this many times a day--I don't think I've "made" it yet in any area.
3. Tiffani's and Lara's blogs inspired me to start blogging.
4. Strawberries are best plain.
5. I hadn't shaved my legs and they were showing in the last dream I remember having. (What does that mean?)
6. The most enjoyable time to go for a walk is when it's not too hot or too cold.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to making Teenage Mutant Ninja masks for girl's camp and watching Ray, tomorrow my plans include birthday party chauffering and Father's Day party and Sunday, I want to do the same thing I do every Sunday!
"I love being a Turtle! Turtles count it off! 1, 2, 3, 4 . . . "
Joys:
1. When we are all laughing together as a family.
2. Picking Amy up from school.
3. Listening to Kaylynn and Anna playing the piano.
4. Looking at Jeremy and being glad that I have a boy and such an awesome one, too!
Fears:
1. Lack of control over certain things
2. Bothering people or taking up their time
3. Being in charge of things (interesting that this and # 1 are like opposites)
Goals:
1. Be grateful for my body, no matter how fat and squishy it gets. (And even to be grateful that we have enough food to eat so that obesity is possible--it's better than starvation.)
2. Figure out a way to keep the refrigerator organized. I could blame it on the kids, but I'm guilty too. (If anyone has any tips, let me know)
3. Keep a dish-towel available at all times by the kitchen sink. (I tend to use a dishtowel just a couple of times, and then it grosses me out so I put it out in the dirty rag basket in the garage without getting a new one. This drives Dan crazy, so I'm trying to make his life a little more pleasant.)
Obsessions:
1. Food
2. Books
3. Music
Random Facts:
1. I want to have a big vegetable garden someday.
2. I have been thinking lately about becoming a nurse, but I don't know if I have what it takes.
3. I went to IKEA the other day (I had to take Kaylynn to a birthday party at the beach, and I thought I should make the gas expenditure more worthwhile) and I bought a funnel set, a star ice-cube tray, a set of 3 cork trivets, a strainer, a set of little bowls for ice-cream, a couple of pairs of rubber gloves, a set of tealights, a silver planter, a box of cookies, and a bottle of sparkling juice. It was fun, but stupid because it aggravated my foot problems.
I tag whoever reads this!

Thank goodness for these fill-ins or I might never post! I would mostly have complaints if I wrote about much, like the fact that in the last couple of months I have suffered from shoulder pain, back pain, neck pain, and foot pain (not all at once, the pain seems to like to crop up in a new place once one place gets better) that keeps me from doing things I need and want to do, and I'm getting really pissed!! Anyways, now that I've gotten that out . . .
1. Idle hands are grabbing for junk food too much.
2. I love exfoliating in the shower.
3. My favorite time of the day is when I go to bed at night.
4. The last tea I drank was ginger lemon. I really don't like tea that much, but some herbal teas are supposed to be really good for you (ginger is an anti-inflammatory, and boy do I need to fight that inflammation!)
5. I like to be air-conditioned in the Summer.
6. My mother always said "Don't mess with me--I'm on the rag."
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to going to sleep as I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night, tomorrow my plans include going to the "Great Taste"--you pay $20 and go around and sample foods from local restaurants, and Sunday, I want to figure out what's going on. I'd like to have my hubby's family over for dinner and celebrate an early Father's Day, but I don't know if I should because of my foot. Any thoughts, those of you who would be involved? Should we just do something on Father's Day, or this Sunday and Dan cooks and my house looks like a pigsty?
