It just dawned on me that it is Friday, and since I haven't downloaded pictures yet, I'll give this a go.
1. The last band I saw live was Leahy. I would have liked to go to the Coldplay concert, but I just didn't make it happen.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is not even started yet.
4. Thoughts of fast food fill my head. (I have a problem with this when Dan goes out of town.)
5. I wish I could wear comfortable clothes without looking slobbish.
6. Bagpipes are a mystery.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleeping, tomorrow my plans include Twilight and lunch and Sunday, I want to go to church, make cinnamon rolls, read and watch the Chargers game!
Derek, Jeremy, Alex, Anna and I took a trip to what is reputed to be the coolest skate park in the area. I had a bit of a bad attitude about going, because our last trip to a skate park was not fun! But we had such a good time on this trip--we stayed for almost three hours! While they where playing around, I read a book and did a bit of doodling in my notebook. It finally just got too hot, and another skater was being a bit hostile to Alex (whether he was joking or not is still being debated.) Here's the video:

The bees are still hanging around under our play area, and we have had other house guests as well that I should mention. We had Cassidy over to spend the night Saturday night, and tonight we have Alex and Derek. Upcoming we will be having Ethan and Emily, and probably Cassidy again. And who knows, maybe Ashley will come again too! Tonight we had pizza and the kids watched Clone Wars. I have tried to survive by hiding in my room and turning up my TV so I can't hear what shenanigans are going on. It works pretty good until they invade my domain. I guess I should just lock the door. I've got the earplugs standing by.
Yesterday was just too busy for blogging, and I'm mad at myself that I didn't take the camera with me. So I just have a few pictures of the day. Since I got this new layout, the pictures and captions are all over the place. Hopefully I can figure it out.

I had Jeremy take a picture of my fabulous haircut. And look--there's bangs! Thank you for those of you who helped me make this momentous decision in my life:
The only reason I am wearing makeup and have my hair done in the previous picture is because I had jury duty. If I had had my camera, I would have taken a picture of my buddies in the jury selection room and the No on 8 rally near the courthouse. They had American flags converted into rainbow flags. I didn't get home until 6 p.m., and then at 7 p.m. we had the YW Night of Excellence which was really cute. Great photo ops missed.
We did get Kaylynn's report card yesterday, and we are very proud of her grades!
I'll try to share soon a little bit about Dan's adventures. He has already sent me some very exciting photos of pipes and jumpsuits.
I'm going to try to post a lot the next couple of weeks to keep Dan up to date on what's going on back here at the ranch. Here's what's been going on the last 24 hours or so:

Decoupage tissue paper squares onto glass votive holder (we used 3-4 inch ones from Micheals, $1 each. Then glue 1 1/4 in. wood doll head to the top. Add eyes, beak, and feathers. Then we put electric tealights inside. Some didn't become turkeys. Jeremy made a mutant turkey with three eyes.
Above is the new obsession among some of my kids-rubber ducks. Anna order 24 mini Halloween ducks recently, and they have been busy making homes for them, and swimming pools out of glass bowls. If you are looking for new items to occupy your kids, try: rubber ducks of any size, dominoes, and electric tealights. Endless possibilities!
I did two important things today:
1. I voted.
2. I bought Get Smart. Not just the regular one, but the 2-Disc one with the cool cover.
I figure I'll need some cheering up if the election doesn't go my way.
