4 Random Blog Tidbits

Numero uno: I'd like to reintroduce you to two of my children whom you may have forgotten I had due to my previous self-centered blog posts. This is a picture of Kaylynn and Jeremy playing catch in our posh backyard. They like to count how many they catch without either of them dropping the ball. This day they got to 119:

Numero dos: Those of you that are addicted to Monk, and you know who you are, have probably already heard the sad news that the actor who played Dr. Kroger, Stanley Kamel, died of a heart attack. I can't imagine anyone else as Mr. Monk's psychiatrist, but it will be a while until we find out, since we're still on Season 4 DVDs and don't have USA.

Numero tres: Miraculously, we remembered to watch The Office tonight. Having watched the first three seasons on DVD, and forgetting to watch the early episodes before the writer's strike, I had a hard time with all the commercial breaks! It was good to see the gang again, but I think I like it better at the office, and I didn't really enjoy the arguing between Jan and Michael. But, yes, I did laugh many times--all Steve has to do is dart his eyes to the side or make a face and I'm laughing.

Numero quatro: I heard one of my favorite songs of all time on the radio this morning--"No One is To Blame" by Howard Jones. This song would probably be in my official "Top 5 Favorite Songs" if I had such a list. (It's surprising that I don't--maybe that will be a future post.) After they played the song, they were saying that Phil Collins played the drums for it and did the background vocals. I never knew!! Now that I've listened to it again, I can't believe I never noticed it before. Did anyone already know this? Here's the video. You gotta love the 80's hair!

Yes! I love this song! Let me tell you what happened the first time I watched the video on here--I thought, "This is the weirdest song. I can't believe I've never heard this song that is one of Shelley's favorite. The words aren't even matching the lips." Then it occured to me that "The Adventure" by Angels and Airwaves was playing at the same time. It made for an interesting mix!n Thanks for that blast from the past!

Noooo!I am so sad about "Dr. Kroger" I came home last night from Bunco around 11:36pm and read the news and had to wake Dave up to let him know! (He was not happy about me waking him up to give him Monk news! The song is very cool!

I love that song too. Good memories! Shawn and I used to play that catch game. We also varied it by using a frisbee. That would be really hard to get to 119!

I hadn't heard about Stanley Kamel. That is so sad. I really liked him and I can't imagine Monk being the same without him. It will be interesting to see what they do with this.

Oh, I forgot, as for The Office, that was crazy. Before this episode I thought that Jan was almost normal but now I realize that she's absolutely wacko too. I was also a little disappointed that Jim almost left Pam at the party. ;) I actually watched it twice, once by myself and then later when my husband watched it. Now I can't get that song by Hunter out of my head, "You took me by the hand...." It's driving me crazy!
