Here are some television series we have enjoyed lately on DVD that I highly recommend. I know I am very behind the times, so maybe you all have seen these, but I am slowly catching up to the rest of the world. Actually, I should accept that I will probably always be behind.
Monk - I have always wanted to watch this show because I love Tony Shalhoub, and I was not disappointed! We laughed so hard watching the first three episodes of Season One. If anyone is not familiar with this show, Tony Shalhoub plays a detective with OCD who is trying to get his police job back. We should be getting the next disc soon-I can't wait--I hope the rest are as good.
Northern Exposure - I know this show is ancient, but when it came on originally, I used to go to bed at 8:00 or 9:00 so I didn't see much of anything. It used to come on channel 5 when Kaylynn was a baby, and I saw some of them then. So now I'm catching up. I love the way they put each show together and the main idea comes full circle. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I don't know how else to describe it. And I love it's quirkiness. If somethings is "quirky," you can bet I'm going to love it.
The Office - Speaking of quirkiness . . . This is more recent but I wasn't really aware of it until Christina was raving about it, and she lent us the first two seasons. The first season I thought was just fairly funny, but I liked the originality of it and the way the people just look like regular people. It's so refreshing to see normal teeth. My favorite episode was the Survivor-like spoof. Then we got into Season Two, which has been absolutely laugh-out-loud funny, and I'm addicted. We watch a few episodes every night. Hey Christina, do you have Season Three??? You've created a monster!

I haven't ever seen the first two shows on your list, but Chris and I have recently started watching The Office. Chris loves it...and it's starting to slowly grow on me. There's not a whole lot of comedies on TV right now, so I guess I have to take what I can get!
my favorite show for a while was house, but the novelty of it has warn off.
I'm so glad to have hooked another person on my favorite show. Season 3 comes out on September 4th and we are definitely buying it, so you are welcome to borrow it. The first show of season 3 may be my favorite, but it is so hard to say. By the way...this show is a spinoff of the British series which only had six episodes. You can get it at Blockbuster. It is similar. Michael Scott is played by the guy who is the museum curator on A Night at the Museum. Wow, can you tell that you blogged about my favorite topic. I should have been the one to blog about it! Anyway, thanks for the recognition.
